LECTURE
The Precious Object Artist Panel
If you haven't been to the Minneapolis Central Library for awhile, we've got multiple reasons why you ought to go tonight! 1. Books are cool, check one out! 2. The Precious Object art exhibit is on display and it's awesome, and 3. You can hear about said exhibit straight from the horses...er, artists mouth at tonight's panel discussion. The Precious Object, which has been on display since mid-September is the inaugural group show from mnartists.org's new exhibition program: ARTmn. The show "speaks to the personal connections we forge with physical objects as a means to commemorate and sometimes replicate an experience and/or place," and features work from Minnesota artists such as Alison Hiltner, Andy DuCett, Sam Spiczka and many more. Stop in to Pohlad Hall tonight at the Central Library and sit in on a panel discussion that includes exhibiting artists speaking about their work in relation to the natural world. We love artist insight!
7 p.m., Minneapolis Central Library, Pohland Hall, 300 Nicollet Mall, Downtown Minneapolis, Free
Witness creative collaboration at its rawest this evening as performing artists from all over the world gather together in experimentation. Talented folk from Russia, Hungary,
Germany and the Twin Cities take the stage at the BLB for an intimate evening of new work teasers, on-the-spot collaborations and audience participation discussions about their work. Linked Studies is part of Mississippi Volga Festival, a cross cultural international arts exchange featuring dance performance, artistic collaborations, workshops, residencies, and community engagement. The festival includes performances at Open Eye Figure Theater on October 9th and 10th.

HAPPY HOUR
Two Brother's Wet Hops Beer Special
Attention fancy beer aficionados! The Acadia Cafe keeps the connoisseur in mind with tonight's Beer Special featuring Two Brothers Wet-Hopped Heavy Handed IPA. What
the hell is that, you ask? Well, apparently wet hops are only available once a year, at harvest time, which makes for an unusual and rare treat for the brewski lover's delicate palate. Illinois Brewing Company, Two Brothers, creates these mystical brews and this evening you'll be privy to $5 flights which feature two versions of their wet hop Heavy Handed IPA as well as two of their dry hop variety on which to draw elitist comparison. Live music from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. by The Wrong Omar, Beckie Shaheen and more will set the backdrop for your beer snobbery.
5 p.m. to Midnight (music 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.), Acadia Cafe, 329 Cedar Avenue S., West Bank Minneapolis, free ($5 flights available)
it's very unusual!
