The Dunny Invasion: ROBOTlove unleashes the new series of Dunny action figures

SPECIAL EVENT
Dunny Trading Party & Pre-Release

What the heck is a Dunny you ask? Well, they are small, collectable vinyl action figures customized by some of the top artists and designers out there! Each series features around 20 new designs and collectors go berserk trying to snag each piece. In the style of old-school trading cards, Dunny's come packaged anonymously -- you never know what you'll get! And local design boutique, ROBOTlove, is one of the only locations in the Twin Cities that carry these cool little guys. In honor of the 2009 Dunny Series, ROBOTlove has been slated as one of the only shops in the country to host a pre-release party -- which means you'll be first in line to get your mitts on brand new Dunnys created by big name artists such as Dalek, Amanda Visell, Kozik and many more. Buy and trade with fellow collectors, enter to win cool stuff, and enjoy the awesomeness that is a ROBOTlove party (there are always lots of treats and surprises). This is an especially great event to bring the kids to -- a wonderful way to start educating them about art in a hip, playful, and colorful way!

6 p.m. to 8 p.m., ROBOTlove, 2648 Lyndale Avenue S., Minneapolis, Free

FASHION
Gemela Amor Launch Party

We called it the moment we laid eyes on Coco and Breezy over two years ago: They are totally destined for fame! The sassy identical twin fashion mavens have been rockin' runways and making the local scene for some time now, so it comes as no surprise that these two cuties are now taking off for the wilds of New York City to stake their claim. Far from being simply "models" this dynamic duo has set their sights on accessory design -- and their new line of ultra-futuristic, blinged out sunglasses, Gemela Amor ("twin love") -- is definitely a step in the right direction. With their glasses featured on the cover of Avant Magazine and having already secured a NYC publicist, there's no doubt these local lovelies will soon be all the rage. Stop into Vs. Social Standard tonight for the Gemela Amor launch party, meet the girls before they blow up, and secure a pair of their radical sunglasses, which retail for $40-$50, before anyone else!

8 p.m. to Midnight, Vs. Social Standard, 1221 West Lake Street, Minneapolis, Free

MUSIC
Willie's Guitars 20th Anniversary

We not only grew up with a guitar-playin' Dad, but we also grew up in ye olde St. Paul, so the Cleveland Avenue Shop, Willie's American Guitars, will always hold a special little place in our heart. Tonight, Willie's travels to Minneapolis to rock out with guitar heroes such as Joe Ely, David Hidalgo & Louis Perez (of Los Lobos), Joey Mulland (Bad Finger), Chris Osgood, and many more in honor of their 20th Anniversary. We also hear that St. Paul Mayor, Chris Coleman, will be performing -- who knew he could strum with the best of 'em? Also on the docket is a music aficionado's dream raffle that includes CDs, swag from CF Martin, Fender, Guild, Gretsch, Paul Reed Smith and more PLUS a hand tailored suit from the estate of Gene Autry. This event is sure to be an down-home hootenanny of epic proportions, so come on down, congratulate Willie on 20 years, and enjoy some top-notch tunes and camaraderie.

7 p.m., The Cabooze, 917 Cedar Avenue S., West Bank Minneapolis, $20
