SPECIAL EVENT
Give & Take

For the past few months, the cleverly quirky folks at Solutions Twin Cities have been putting on "Give & Take," a presentation-fueled event that encourages audience participation. In each edition, the presenters and attendees alike are posed two questions: "What do you know about?" and, "what do you WANT to know about?" This month learn more about oddball topics via local creative types and what they "know." Roberta & Ken Avidor talk about sketching and seeing the world through journaling; Aaron Landry discusses the best (and the worst) pizza in the Twin Cities; Shanai Matteson tells us about nature through the art of the diorama; and Peter Haakon Thomspon shows us how to tie knots (and requests that you wear shoes with laces). All in all, a strange, funny, and informative evening. After all, they do say knowledge is power!

7 p.m. to 10 p.m., Intermedia Arts, 2822 Lyndale Avenue, Minneapolis, $5-$10 sliding scale donation

FASHION
Couture Noir

Admission is $15, with discounts extended to those who come in masquerade costume or those who appear bearing a ticket stub from another MNfashion Week event. -Rob Callahan
