A pleasant evening of bowling and musical mayhem at Memory Lanes

MUSIC
Punk Bowl

There's nothing like some good old-fashioned eardrum-blistering, kick-in-the-head punk rock to liven up a Monday night. Hit Memory Lanes for hardcore bowling and fist pumping as punkers Cross Examination (St. Louis), High Life (Texas), Motherspeed (California), Viral Mutations, and In Defence take the lanes for this week's edition of Punk Bowl. The bands tear it up on a stage set in the middle of the lanes while you throw gutterballs and swill beer. This truly recession proof weekly rock-out features $2.50 PBR Tall Boys, $3 Jamesons, and $1 mini-burgers -- and the bowling is a mere $2. Punk Bowl is definitely not for the faint of heart, but we tend to think mayhem in moderation is good for the soul.

10 p.m., Memory Lanes, 2520 26th Avenue S., Minneapolis, Free

SPECIAL EVENT
Martinis & Manicures

What better place to give yourself a little fantasy getaway than a ritzy downtown hotel?  Breeze in as if you are from another planet all together, and quench your thirst while enjoying manicure services. The Living Room in the W Foshay is hosting Monday night Martinis and Manicures. For just $17 (excluding tip), get a martini from the bar and a manicure from Denny Kemp Salon and Spa in NE Minneapolis. You might even ask the locals for some recommendations for dinner or excursions. (What do visitors learn about this place while they are having their nails done?) Be sure to let them know about life on your planet, too.

Monday evenings, The Living Room at the W Minneapolis/The Foshay, Marquette between 9th and 10th, $17

MUSIC
Lil' Black Blondie

A sultry evening of mood enhancing music and tasty food awaits you at Barbette as Lil' Black Blondie (Tasha, Liz, and Kahlil of the group Black Blondie) add to the ambiance with their all-instrumental fusion of funk, soulful R&B, trip hop, dub, and afrobeat (just to name a few influences). The sweet sounds will definitely create the perfect backdrop for this late night excursion to Barbette, which wouldn't be complete without happy hour drink specials and the signature candle-lit mood lighting that makes this hot spot the perfect spot for date night. Sip $3 select taps, $4 house wine and bubbly and nibble $5 appetizers with that special someone.

10pm, Barbette, 1600 West Lake Street, Uptown Minneapolis, Free
