Whet your Fringe Fest appetite at the Bedlam this week

SPECIAL EVENT
Pre-Fringe Appetizers: Two Course of Comedy

We've already gotten enough intel on the upcoming Fringe Fest to keep our heads spinning for the next couple weeks! Luckily, for those of you who do not receive 100+ press releases a day, there are plenty of ways you can find out about the impending awesomeness that is Fringe. First, of course, there is the official website. And secondly, there are plenty of cool pre-events that are designed specifically to whet your appetite, and tonight's extravaganza at Bedlam is exactly that. Tonight through Saturday, Box Wine TC and Questionable Company Theatre (we love these names) join forces for a comedic double-whammy performance that includes work from new comedy troupe, Panda Sandwich, as well as a short play entitled WTF in the Garden of Eden. Stick around for a post-show dance party which will feature music by Raymond Yates & Matt Ogden, Gerald Prokop, and Gazillion; plus more theater, comedy, and something called "erotic bluegrass," which we, of course, are dying to know more about!

7:30 p.m., Bedlam Theater, 1501 S. 6th Street, West Bank Minneapolis, Pay-what-you-can (suggested $12-$15), After Party Only $5

SPECIAL EVENT
Give & Take

Described as an "event for curious people," the clever conceptors at Solutions Twin Cities bring you "Give and Take." The event features short presentations by numerous local "experts", fueling conversation and finding common bond. No specific theme is set for the evening, and topics may include, but are not limited to: short film-making, influenza, ad-hocism, Minnesota history, and the art of toilet paper folding. Weird? Yes. Cool? We think so. Either way, you'll probably learn a thing or two, meet a few interesting folks, and possibly even stir up a storm of creativity!

7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., Intermedia Arts, 2822 Lyndale Avenue, Minneapolis, donations appreciated

SPECIAL EVENT
Summer Picnic with the Shubert

We're not sure what we like best about this event! It could be the fact that it's a picnic (who doesn't like picnics?) or possibly that it's being held on the gorgeous rooftop patio of the Skyscape Condos in Downtown Minneapolis; or maybe it's that the Shubert Center Performing Arts and Education Center is involved! All in all, this intimate event is no doubt, an utterly charming way to spend your Wednesday evening. Mingle, enjoy light picnic fare, and settle in for an exclusive performance. While you're there, find out upcoming events and take in the dazzling view from atop the Skyscape! Space is limited and RSVPs are mandatory to 612-465-0231.

5 p.m. to 7 p.m. (music at 6 p.m.), Skyscape Condos Rooftop Park, 929 Portland Avenue, Minneapolis, Free, RSVP required to 612-465-0231

I can't make the Pre-Fringe Appetizers and After Party tonight! But thankfully, there will be a sorta repeat this Saturday at Bedlam.

On Saturday there's a combined Pre-Fringe Appetizers at 7:30 and Heretics Ball at 10:00. The Heretics Ball will also feature Gerald Prokop, as well as Ghostband and Ficshe.
