ART
Drawn from Practice
This will likely be a fun opening, populated with a great variety of TC notables, the subjects of Mike Reed's Drawn from Practice. Reed has been attending rehearsals with sketchbook and pencil in hand and has created a body work of original drawings and prints based on his studies of people practicing their skills. The loose and energetic drawings depict musicians, dancers, singers, actors, chefs, hair stylists, even cattle judges. The figurative work is simultaneously impressionistic, serious, fun, and inspiring. Drawn from Practice runs through August 8.
Opening reception, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. College of Visual Arts Gallery, 173 Western Avenue, St. Paul, Free
