Spend a jazzy Monday evening with Supreme Privacy

Supreme Privacy

Oh, how we love Barbette. The ambiance, the food, the wine, the easy-on-the-eyes wait staff -- it's always a pleasure. Monday's are especially charming at Barbette, thanks to their chilled out late night happy hour which features different musical acts each week. Tonight, take in the sexy jazz stylings of Supreme Privacy, a piano-driven trio of eclectic local musicans (including bassist Sean McPherson of Heiruspecs). We can think of nothing more romantic on a Monday evening than cozying up at a candlelit table with a date, a bottle of red wine, and Supreme Privacy. Really.

10 p.m., Barbette, 1600 W. Lake Street, Uptown Minneapolis, Free

Extra: Not into the late night scene? Barbette offers a delicious prix fixe dinner menu each Monday that features a 4-5 course meal, including a cheese and/or dessert course for $32 per person. Prix fixe dinner available from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

WINE & DINE
Oysters and Champagne Reception

Fancy! Eat Street Staple, Azia, plays up to your prissy side this evening with a pinkies-in-the-air worthy soiree. Four courses of champagne will be served alongside four perfectly paired courses of oysters -- with three different varieties of oyster featured in each course. Between platters you'll enjoy additional butler passed hors d'oeuvres to ensure you don't get oystered-out. The jazzy goodness of Robert Everest and co. add to the ambiance, and Azia will have an oyster expert and a wine sommelier on the prem to ensure you're gastronomically informed. Reservations are required to Azia at 612-813-1200.

7 p.m. to 10 p.m., Azia Restaurant, 2550 Nicollet Avenue, Minneapolis, $65 per person, reservations required to 612-813-1200.

MUSIC
Diamond Blue Review Open Jam

Make your way to non-descript Northeast dive, Shaw's, for a toe-tappin' Monday night blues jam. This long-running open jam session features a rotating cast of local musicians of all shapes, sizes and abilities sharing the stage. Feel free to bring your harmonica/guitar/bass/voice or what-have-you and join in the fun -- if you don't have paralyzing stage fright like us, that is. We're quite happy to watch from the sidelines, thank you very much! While you're there, be sure to indulge yourself with the famous "Shaw Burger," the undisputed best (if not the unhealthiest) burger in Northeast, piled high with bacon, cheddar and swiss cheese, fried onions and special sauce.

Every Monday, 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., Shaw's Bar & Grill, 1528 University Avenue NE, Minneapolis, Free

Extra: $2.50 Coors Light 20oz taps and other specials all night!
