If we still had any of the embarrassingly nerdy poetry from our youth, tonight's Geek Slam would probably be the place to read it. Fortunately, such verse has long-since been banished from existence (phew). Anyhoo, the self-proclaimed "geekiest poetry reading this side of a comic-con," invites nerds of all stripes to wax poetic at Kieran's Irish Pub this evening. Share your best robot-inspired haiku or proclaim your love for Star Trek babe Deanna Troi in sonnet form! Geek Slam is definitely the place to unleash your supreme awkwardness upon eager ears without the fear of being stuffed into a locker. Don't worry, there's no need to participate, you can always just listen in and have a good laugh at the welcome expense of the coolest of the un-cool. Hosted by Bill Young and featuring Ezra, Gabe Heller, Jen Zalar and many more.
8 p.m. to 10 p.m., Kieran's Irish Pub, 330 2nd Avenue S., Minneapolis, $5

JagerCon: Repo Man
Keeping with the nerdy tone of today's Secrets, we thought it apt to remind you of Clubhouse Jager's free weekly sci-fi

Mingle with fellow geeks while you sip 2-for-1 cocktails and enjoy this epic cult classic from the comfort of your bar stool!
