Making Peace a Priority: The Twin Cities premiere of 'Soldiers of Peace'

Give peace a chance, ya'll! Despite the constant barrage of "bad news" in the media, the fact is, that there are actually fewer armed conflicts in the world today than ever before. Head to the Heights Theater this evening for the Twin Cities premiere of Soldiers of Peace, a documentary film that focuses on dedicated peace activists and communities around the world. The film's mission is to inspire activism and to remind its audience that peace starts in your own backyard.

Bask in the glow of Christine Rosholt's sweet, sultry sounds tonight at the Dakota. With a collection of tunes that wouldn't be out of place in an old-timey piano bar, Rosholt charms with classic style and undeniable toe tap-ability.  This striking songbird and her killer backup band will take the stage at the Dakota this evening to entertain, while you sip indulgent cocktails named for classic blues and jazz tunes such as Bitches Brew, Love Supreme, and Yardbird Suite.

Monday Madness

Head to Lowertown St. Paul's The Black Dog Cafe each Monday night for "Monday Madness!" Get one pizza (veggie or meat) and one bottle of wine (red or white) for a mere $20! Not down with vino? You ca substitute the wine for four Summit taps. The Black Dog Cafe is located in the heart of the Lowertown artists community, a great spot for people-watching on the patio, not to mention, Mondays are the perfect (cheap) date night!

5 p.m. to close, Black Dog Cafe, 308 Prince Street, Lowertown St. Paul, $20 for pizza and bottle of wine/beer
