Je Ne Sais Quoi
The elusive "je ne sais quoi." Some possess its allure, while others are destined to chase it. Je Ne Sais Quois , written and directed by Cinema Revolution owner John Koch, is a quirky, quick-witted story of a creative loner and his delightfully charismatic neighbor, Anna. This black comedy, drawing inspiration from classic off-beat romance directors like Woody Allen and Godard, explores the subtleties of modern relationships and the differences between finding your "soul mate" and settling for a kindred spirit. Also screening tonight is a short from Je Ne Sais Quois co-writer, Dave Andrae: Self-Important Empirical Film #3, with Voice-over, winner of the "Best Experimental Film" at the 8th annual Boston Underground Film Festival. Both Koch and Andrae will be present for a Q and A session following the screenings and refreshments will be available by donation during the films. -Juleana Enright

SPECIAL EVENT
The Big Bang Book Club
This month's Big Bang Book Club discusses The Ghost Map by Steven Johnson, a history of the worst cholera epidemic to hit Victorian London
-- and the scientist who finally won the battle against the disease. As a special bonus, epidemiologist Dr. Tracy Sides (PhD, MPH), the epidemiology outreach coordinator for the BioWatch program at the Center for Infectious Disease Research & Policy joins us for tonight's BBBC. Dr. Sides has graciously agreed to hoist a beer and make sure the discussions don't go too far astray. The Big Bang Book Club is a monthly book club for non-scientists, and relishes in folding arts and science, introducing left brain to right brain, and stirring up some conversation among friends. This event is sponsored by the Center for Science, Technology, and Public Policy; Magers and Quinn Booksellers; Secrets of the City; and Grumpy's.
7:00 p.m., Grumpy's Downtown, 1111 Washington Av. S. Minneapolis, Free (plenty of free parking around back)
