FASHION
Cliché Five Years of Love Runway Show

For the past five years independent local design boutique, Cliché, has been not only outfitting stylish Twin Citizens, but it's also served as a professional launch pad for many local fashion designers. The cute little retail shop located on 24th & Lyndale offers a beautifully curated selection of unique, locally made, and often one-of-a-kind garments and accessories -- items that the Twin Cities fashion elite routinely drool over. Tonight Cliché celebrates year five of stylin' success with their annual summer fashion show at Plaza Verde, featuring designs by local luminaries Ivan Idland, Amanda Christine, Kjurek Couture, Maritza Ramirez, Red Shoe Clothing and a dozen more! This event always sells out, so don't delay. Stop by Cliché today and pick up your advance tickets, and maybe even something special to wear!

8 p.m. to 11 p.m., Plaza Verde, 1516 E. Lake Street, Minneapolis, $8, tickets available at Cliche, 612-870-0420 (call ahead to make sure tix are still available!)

MUSIC
Music in Mears

Lounging around on freshly cut grass with live music blasting in the foreground or a cult hit lighting up the big screen: Summer just wouldn't be the same without the outdoor concerts and movie screenings we've grown to love. Located in the beautiful Mears Park and boasting a whopping 12 weeks of fantastic outdoor live music and six weeks of classic filmdom, the Music in Mears series is now in its 6th year.  Each concert date features tasty treats and beverages from such vendors as The Bulldog, Barrio Tequila Bar (who will soon be opening a downtown St. Paul location), Señor Wongs, and Station 4. Peruse merchant booths from local businesses and artists, and kick back for a rocking live music set. Tonight's event features local R&B outfit, Hookers & Blow, and will include complimentary grub a la Señor Wongs. Keep glued to the MiM website for a listing of ongoing summer events in the park!

6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Mears Park, 221 E. 5th St., Downtown St. Paul, Free

SPECIAL EVENT
Thursdays at Jean Stephens Gallery

Party arty at the Jean Stephens Gallery every Thursday evening in June! Make your way to the staple downtown art spot for the second in a series of fundraising events that will help raise cash to install an artist-created sculptural bike rack on Nicollet Mall. Enjoy the experimental stylings of local band Eyes for Ears, as well as a spoken word performance, a live painting demonstration, and festive mingling with other creatively-inclined types. Support the cause by bidding on a wide variety of work in the silent auction, which includes paintings, prints, photography, and sculpture. The event is free and open to the public, but donations are welcome -- and a few bucks to help beautify the city streets is a few bucks well spent!

5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursdays through June, Jean Stephens Galleries, 917 Nicollet Mall, Downtown Minneapolis, Free
