Evil Deadites Invade North Loop Bar

SPECIAL EVENT
JagerCon

Head down to Tuesday evening "nerdquarters" Clubhouse Jager for this weekly movie geek out! Tonight's show is the famed Evil Dead 2, one of the most ridiculous comedy/horror cult flicks in the history of filmmaking. The goofy Ash Williams is back in this remake/sequel, fending off demonic possession with a chainsaw, and we can't argue with that. This laid back movie night includes 2-4-1 rail drinks and drafts, plus an unbeatable nerdy camaraderie. Not to mention, Jager has the best outdoor patio in the Twin Cities -- hopefully an amenity today's projected "scattered t-storms" won't ruin.

10 p.m., Clubhouse Jager, 923 Washington Avenue N., Minneapolis, Free

READINGS
Raking Through Books

We've got all your culinary magic covered:  Ann Burckhardt shares stories and recipes in Hot Hish Heaven: Classic Casseroles from Midwest Kitchens, and Klecko introduces his K-9 Nation Biscuit Book.  Now that comfort food is revered in restaurants, and your pup can chow down on a biscuit at some outdoor restaurant areas, it's time to keep up with the Joneses of the creative cooking world.  Get your pencil handy, and buy the books at the University of Minnesota Bookstore or at Raking through Books tonight at Kieran's.  Maybe this is an entire new education area for our co-presenters at Loft Literary Center. Also supported by KFAI radio.

5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., Kieran's Irish Pub, Titanic Lounge, 330 2nd Av. S., Mpls, Free

MUSIC
Convergence

In Loring Park, Tuesday spells techno. Don't miss the trance-formation of sleek, Euro-chic lounge, Nick and Eddies, as the weekly electronic dance party, Convergence, takes over.  Tonight, JamesPatrick's signature style of hypnotic techno live/DJ sets and Convergence host and resident DJ Jon Hester's deep jams are guaranteed to get the dance floor raging with sexy minimalist moves. Also on the musical line-up, is a live sax performance (yes, saxophone - electronic fans can be versatile too) from Jon Hester. FYI: this might be one of your last chances to witness the creative genius of Hester before he bids the Twin Cities bon voyage June 15th to continue his musical career in Barcelona. $3 beers, half-priced rail drinks and tasty late night eats are all the more incentive to pencil in some late-night techno partying into your Tuesday evening schedule. -Juleana Enright

10 p.m.- 2 a.m., Nick and Eddie, 1612 Harmon Place, Minneapolis, Free
