SPECIAL EVENT
The Current's Fakebook feat. Bob Gruen
It's said that a picture is worth a thousand words. Tonight, as part of 89.3 The Current's Fakebook series, over 40 years of rock and roll history will be remembered with photographer Bob Gruen making a special appearance at the Fitzgerald Theater. A preeminent rock and roll photographer during the 70s and 80s, Gruen's defining work documented the influential music movements of Punk, Proto-Punk and New Wave in America and England. The intimacy, friendship and respect that Gruen carried for the musicians he worked with is clearly visible in his candid photographs. Gruen has shot major rock acts such as Led Zeppelin, David Bowie, and Tina Turner, and was the personal photographer to John Lennon and Yoko Ono, capturing private moments in their lives. An interview with Gruen will correspond with a slideshow of his iconic imagery, accompanied by tracks selected from The Current's own Bill Deville. Don't miss this very special rock-worthy interview and multimedia presentation. -Juleana Enright
