PERFORMANCE
They are at Home Here
Through installation and performance They are at Home Here offers a voyeuristic view into the mind of the artist. Comparing the work to peeking
into a stranger's home, this series encourages the viewer to think inside the box. Asking the questions "What stories are we choosing to tell; what stories do we not realize we are telling?" tonight's experience will feature dance, puppetry, and interaction, as well as a bit of tragedy and raunchiness thrown in to balance things out. Through January 4th.
Friday 8 p.m., Saturday 8 p.m. and 10 p.m., Sunday 7 p.m., Bedlam Theatre, 1501 S. 6th Street, West Bank Minneapolis, $12
Back in 2001 a group of five artistic undergrads at the University of Wisconsin-Stout banded together in aesthetic camaraderie to form The Burning Artists' Co-Op. Now
separated by many state lines, each member of the group has gone on to exhibit individually all over the world. Tonight The Burning Artists' Co-Op reunites for a run at Umber Studios. See multiple mediums in this eclectic and delightfully narrative exhibit; from printmaking to illustration, drawing to installation, and spanning painting, sculpture, and various forms of design.
Saturday, 8 p.m. to Midnight, Umber Studios, 3109 East 42nd Street, Minneapolis, Free
Extra: The Walker hosts their Monthly Free First Saturday event this afternoon, complete with art labs, film, and tours of the Eero Saarinen exhibit (which closes on Sunday).
