Rice Park: Still Sparkling After All These Years

SPECIAL EVENT
Rice Park Holiday Lights & Skating

If you're not too tuckered out from invoking the holiday spirit last week, we'd like to suggest a little good-time nostalgia. St. Paul's Rice Park has been aglow with a bazillion twinkling lights for the past month, and if you haven't yet laid eyes upon this sparkling annual sight, tonight's as good a night as any! Bundle up and stroll the park, or better yet, lace up your ice skates and take a spin on the Wells Fargo WinterSkate rink at the adjacent Landmark Center. This family-friendly annual tradition runs through February 1st.

Skating Mon-Wed 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thurs-Sun 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Holiday Lights 24/7, Rice Park, West 5th Street & Market St., Downtown St. Paul, Free

SPECIAL EVENT
Punk Bowl

Each Monday, South Minneapolis bowl-o-rama Memory Lanes hosts a rowdy punk rock pin-bashing party complete with live music! This week enjoy the riotous stylings of local bands The No-No's, Strut and Shock, and The Harpies playing live in the middle of the lanes. Bowl a game (for only $2) while the bands rock out, and treat yourself to a PBR tallboy and a couple $1 mini burgers.

9:30 p.m., Memory Lanes, 2520 26th Avenue S., Minneapolis, $2 games/$2 shoe rental

WINE & DINE
Snap Pizza's Monday Madness

We were pleasantly surprised a couple of weeks ago when our favorite Northeast pizzeria delivered a stack of pies to our office at half price. We thought we were being rewarded for our frequent patronage and/or good looks until the delivery guy let us in on a little secret: If the Minnesota Vikings win their Sunday game, pizzas are buy-one-get-one-free on Monday! And lucky for you, the Vikes did actually manage to win this week, so put on your eatin' pants and get thee to Northeast. Snap offers a tasty menu of gourmet pizzas, sandwiches, salads, and even ice cream. The best part? You can choose between traditional red sauce, pesto sauce, or (our fave) parmesan cream sauce on your pizza. Yum!

11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Snap Pizza, 2851 Johnson Street NE, Northeast Minneapolis, delivery 612-788-9800
