Happy James Brown Day!

SPECIAL EVENT
Soundbar Christmas Party

Leave it up to the euro-sexy crew over at the 414 Soundbar to turn this innocent holiday into something more naughty than nice! After sharing a civilized day with the fam, head to this Warehouse District party mecca to work off those Christmas cookies on the dance floor. Featuring a hot line up of DJs in both rooms playing a selection of smolderin' salsa, reggae, house, and dance hits. Hang with the glamorous international set tonight, sip sumptuous cocktails and warm up for New Year's Eve!

9 p.m., 414 Soundbar, 414 3rd Street N, Warehouse District Minneapolis, Ladies Free, Guys $5

MUSIC
Christmas Night DJs

You may associate the legendary downtown rib joint with...well, ribs. But tonight this BBQ haven turns up the volume. Cap your Christmas celebrating off with a very merry holiday dance party hosted by techno-heads DJ Secret and Kyle Wyld, featuring a live p.a. electronic music performance by Ian Lehman. Not to mention, we'd take a heaping helping of Market Bar-B-Que's succulent ribs over a Christmas goose anytime.

9:30 p.m., Market BBQ, 1414 Nicollet Avenue, Minneapolis, Free

Honorable mention:
Staraoke Christmas Party @ The Triple Rock

WINE & DINE
Restaurants Open on Christmas Day

For all you poor saps who are either home alone for the holidays or banned from your family function, we've got you covered. No need to eat Slim Jims and Twinkies from the gas station if you've got nowhere to go; a number of great local restaurants are open today for your dining pleasure. Count on some of the swankier hotel spots to be open such as The Chambers Kitchen, Cosmos at the Graves 601, or Manny's at the W; or opt for some Asian flav at such spots as Hong Kong Noodles or Bambu. The Pi Press has a nice list going HERE and The Twin Cities Dining Guide has some good ideas HERE as well. Happy eating and Happy Holidays!
