All Music Tuesday: Claire Taubenhaus Introduces Herself Properly

MUSIC
Claire Taubenhaus CD Release Show

How the soulful, breathy vocals and confident spoken word flow of Claire Taubenhaus have somehow slipped past our radar thus far is sort of a travesty. Luckily, we're just in time to jump on the bandwagon for her CD release show tonight at The 7th Street Entry! With equal time spent in New York City and rural Minnesota, Claire now calls the Minneapple home, bringing a fresh and honest, yet sultry sound along with her. This thoughtful mixture of folk, hip hop and soul make the perfect recipe for a sonically stylish Tuesday evening. The Forest and Mages kick things off the right way.

8 p.m., 7th Street Entry, 701 1st Avenue N, Downtown Minneapolis, $5

MUSIC
Acoustic Death Orchestra

Promising to "open your third ear hole" with his down-home brand of boozy acoustic rock n' roll, C. Glenn Hall and cohorts will inspire liberal whiskey consumption tonight at Lee's Liquor Lounge. Hall even claims William Shatner's spoke work albums as one of his many influences, along with Kiss, Rush, Megadeth and KRS-1; so there's no doubt the entertainment factor is there. Not to mention, Lee's is one of those lazy, roadhouse-style joints where whiling away the hours with an alcoholic everage clutched in your mitt seems almost natural for a Tuesday evening. Locals Livid Lover and Nick Rod open the show.

9:30 p.m., Lee's Liquor Lounge, 101 Glenwood, Minneapolis, Free

MUSIC
Aunt Dracula

We totally love the name. Heralded Philadelphia faves Aunt Dracula bring their quirky indie stylings to the Turf tonight. Concocted of a somewhat undefinable blend of experimental, fuzzy arrangements with dark undertones, Aunt Dracula  rounds out with a layering of vocals that soar from frenzied to smoothly melodic. This troupe of musical oddballs will most assuredly put on an interesting stage show, proving once again that Philly is not just about American history and delicious cheese steak sandwiches. Zany local rockers Unicorn Basement kick things off, along with Chickadee Mountain Martyrs, and Leisure Birds.

8 p.m., Turf Club, 1601 University Avenue, St. Paul, $4
