It is well known that Nick Mason (of Pink Floyd fame) is an avid automobile collector. He has a book that is available in England with a CD of the best engine note soundtracks called Into The Red (for redline, of course.) Check it our here for a gift. 

You can thank me now for this insight on what is perhaps the most celebratory compilation of sounds for this season. God herself cannot conjure a more melodious note than a 12 cylinder Ferrari 250 GTO under full throttle (generally agreed to be the best note of all time).

Nor could Hank Paulson (aka Lucifer) bellow with more fury than the Matra 12-cylinder CanAm cars of the 1970s (the loudest race cars ever). Alas, like Mitterand or Chirac these French cars were all sound and fury signifying nothing and proved very unreliable. I'll try to capture some soundtracks for you on this blog soon.

In the meantime please enjoy any BoyRacer SuperStreet car with a coffee can (street for real big muffler) and give thanks that these youngsters are merely making and not taking speed. I even know a few who have found Jesus and have never dabbled on the dark side of the moon.
