Defenestrator Live: Coal In Your Stocking

Share

How can anyone expect to experience the requisite peace on Earth and goodwill necessary to truly get into the holiday spirit when even Jolly Old Saint Nick is affected by our economic doldrums and growing increasingly frustrated with man’s lack of childlike innocence and faith. And can anyone blame him? Man’s faith in his fellow man has been shaken to its very firmaments in this, our season of discontent. The auto industry, once America’s pride and joy, is now the unemployable uncle passed out at the family holiday party in a pool of eggnog and urine. And cousin Bernie, with whom the family entrusted their 529s and 401(k)s, apparently spent all he supposedly invested on hookers and blow while the family’s patriarch was oblivious to all wrongdoing.

Is it any wonder Santa, as he explains in this first edition of Defenestrator Live, wants us all dead?

So whether you celebrate Christmas, Chanukah, Kwanzaa, or some bizarre amalgamation thereof, Happy Holidays from the Defenestrator and all of us here at Secrets of the City! Many thanks go to the Kyle and Colin, the writers and performers of Coal in Your Stocking; not to mention Theater Limina and the performers of The Santaland Diaries. Lastly, vast amounts of gratitude go to our lovely camerawoman and editrix extraordinaire, Cristina Cordova.

Glad you guys like it! We had a blast making it, so thanks for helping us out. Plus, it's a great song for those folks sick of Joy to the Damn World.
